-
We do both. Dave can help select, supply, and install plants and containers for your commercial space, then provide ongoing maintenance to keep them looking healthy and professional. Maintenance is also available for businesses that already have plants in place.
-
Commercial plant maintenance may include watering, moisture checks, pruning, trimming, foliage cleaning, fertilization, plant-health monitoring, pest inspection, and seasonal care adjustments. The exact service depends on the plants and conditions in your space.
-
It depends on the plants, containers, lighting, temperature, HVAC conditions, and time of year.
Dave evaluates the needs of your space and recommends a service schedule that keeps your plants healthy without over- or under-caring for them.
-
Pricing depends on the number and size of plants, their condition, the size of the property, how often service is needed and the level of care involved. Dave provides custom pricing based on the needs of your business rather than using a one-size-fits-all package.
-
Plant selection starts with the environment. Dave considers lighting, temperature, HVAC airflow, available space, foot traffic, maintenance needs and the overall look of the room before recommending plants that are suited to the space.
-
Often, yes. Certain plants perform better in lower-light commercial environments, and appropriate artificial lighting can sometimes expand the available options. Dave evaluates the space first so plants are selected for the conditions they will actually be living in.
-
Yes. Plants, containers, sizes and placement can all be selected to complement the architecture, furnishings, colors and overall style of your business. The goal is for the plants to feel like part of the space, not something added as an afterthought.
-
Usually, no, unless Dave specifically recommends it. Extra watering from multiple people is a common cause of plant problems. Keeping care on one consistent schedule makes it easier to maintain proper moisture levels and identify problems when they arise.
-
Repeated plant loss is usually a sign that something in the environment or care routine is working against the plants. Common causes include overwatering, underwatering, poor lighting, HVAC exposure, drainage problems, pests or simply having the wrong plant in the wrong location. Dave can help identify the cause instead of repeatedly replacing plants without solving the underlying problem.
-
Yes. Dave provides pest and disease management for commercial indoor plants, including common problems such as fungus gnats, spider mites, mealybugs, aphids and scale. Early identification and treatment can help prevent a problem from spreading through an entire plant collection.
-
Common warning signs include webbing, sticky residue, insects on or beneath leaves, small flying insects around the soil, discoloration, distorted growth, sudden leaf drop or unexplained decline. If several plants are grouped together, pests can spread quickly, so early evaluation is important.
-
Yes. Dave’s Horticultural Services holds a Michigan Pesticide Application Business License and uses an Integrated Pest Management approach to identify plant-health problems and determine the appropriate treatment.
-
Yes. Indoor plants are still affected by seasonal changes. Michigan winters bring shorter daylight hours, heated and drier indoor air and colder conditions near windows, while summer can bring stronger light and different HVAC patterns. Professional care should adjust as those conditions change.
-
Because consistent plant care requires more than occasional watering. A professional service monitors watering, lighting, pests, plant health and changing conditions while keeping the collection looking polished. Your employees can enjoy the plants without having to figure out who watered what, when—or why something suddenly started dying.
